Do you ever have one of those days where you just need to get out of the house? Well lucky for you, the local coffee shop is just minutes away. Coffee shops provide a place for those to study, read, or meet up with friends. Each coffee shop has its aesthetic as well as its pros and cons. Here are some of the best coffee shops in Long Beach, along with reasons why we like each one.

Best Coffee Shops in Long Beach:

Philz Coffee - Originating in San Francisco, this popular coffee-chain has begun to make its way down south. Located on 2nd street in Belmont Shores, this shop offers a variety of drinks such as their popular Mint Mojito. Our other favorites include the Ecstatic, Philtered Soul, & Iced Coffee Rose. This Philz Coffee location has lots of windows and seating space which makes it a great place to meet or study during the day time. The only con is that it closes at 8 PM. Other Southern California locations include Huntington Beach and Irvine.

The Library A Coffee House - Staying open until midnight, this coffee shop has become a popular place for students to study. With a variety of drinks and food, you can easily spend a whole day there getting your work done. There is a decent amount of seating, but since it's so popular they are usually filled up. If you want to find a seat, be sure to go around 7 PM-9 PM.

More Coffee Shops in Long Beach

Portfolio Coffeehouse - Located on the corner of Junipero and 4th street, Portfolio Coffeehouse is a great place to catch up with an old friend or study for finals. This spot has plenty of seating in the front as well as a usually quieter back area. With lots of windows and outdoor seating, this place is ideal during the daytime. Portfolio closes at 9 PM.

Steelhead Coffee - Are you a Kombucha lover? If so, Steelhead is the place to go. Along with having Kombucha on tap and various coffee blends, Steelhead is the perfect place to meet up with friends. They have an amazing Lavender Latte as well as a variety of seasonal drinks. Steelhead is open from 6 AM - 7 PM on the weekdays and 7 AM - 6 PM on the weekends.

Recreational Coffee - Looking to grab a bit with a friend? Probably of the more trendy spots in Long Beach, Recreational Coffee is a must-visit. They source their coffee from all around the world and have an amazing drip coffee. Recreational Coffee also has plenty of food options such as Avocado Toast, Hazelnut Strawberry Toast & more. If you are looking for a good time and good coffee, then this is the place to go. This is probably one of my favorite coffee shops in Long Beach

With plenty of coffee house options in Long Beach, you can never get bored. Whether it's meeting up with friends or knocking out a school essay, coffee shops are the perfect place to do so. Some other notable coffee shops in Long Beach include Commodity, Rose Park Roasters, & Tierra Mia Coffee.
